Fosher stands waiting at the bottom of Skaoi’s ramp, watching her crew descend. Sera approaches, and he smiles, and she smacks him, and it’s a bit quiet, suddenly.

“That’s for not telling me you were in the hospital.” She says, and he rubs his cheek, thoroughly chastened.

“I missed you?”

“Better, but you’re still sleeping on the couch.”

“Yeah,” Fosher says, and he wraps his arms around her waist, lifting her, spinning her, kissing her, and she shrieks, happily, and it’s easy to forget they’re at war.
