Chapter 1:
With the round…
"God damn it, this rain is ridiculous! What is it, July? August?”
“Don’t ask me, I’m from down south, time changes always screw me up.”
“…You do know there is no time change when you move vertically, right?”
“Whatever. Have you knocked yet?”
“You got here before me.”
“Right. Sorry, time change and all.”
“Boys, you coming in or not?”
“I’m not really sure I qualify as a boy still… I mean, I’m at least twenty-two now, right?”
“…I just met you.”
“And?”
“Sullivan! In! And you must be Lieutenant Lane, nice to meet you, please come in out of the rain-”
“Holy crap, who the hell is that?!!”
“Sullivan! What did I just say? In! And take off your coat while you’re at it, I don’t want to pay to replace the carpet.”
“Siiiir, just look.”
“Oh for the— Luke! Get the hell out of the rain!”
“I don’t think he heard you.”
“In. And give me that.”
“What— aww, I just had that dry-cleaned!”
